Although the versions of Android are constantly recovering with each passing year, it is the law of life that some of the functionalities of the system are being suppressed to make way for others of more useful. This time, thanks to what we have been able to read in GSMArena, the next version of the Android operating system, of course, Android P could eliminate the option to show the power of the received signal.
The power to the operators
The news has been known after the part of a filtering code of the Open Source Project of Android indicated that the operators could have full control of that information for the next versions. In this way, although the functionality would remain, it would be the operators who would have the last word when it was displayed. As confirmed by sources close to the tech giant Google, the company would have accepted the demand of the operators to have control over this function. It is completely unknown why operators need to delete this because this information would be easily accessible through third-party applications because the API that makes up the system would still be available. Some of the users of the network have speculated that the tech giant Google would have agreed to modify this part of Android for the benefit of the operators so that they can make exclusive use depending on the service provided to the rest. In this way, we as users could not know if the coverage we received is the best we could have in that area depending on our bill. Although at the moment everything is in the air in terms of operators, the tech giant Google and Android is concerned, it seems that the maneuver does not make much sense, because we should not forget, as we have previously said, that information could be available through some of the third party application (of course in case of modified ROM it would also be if it is implemented). The tech giant Google has not officially announced the decision, so we must wait until it presents the next version of the operating system, of course, Android P to assess it. For the moment we can consult this information, in case we are interested, from our phone configuration menu. So, what do you think about this?
